Cookie Policy (Cookie Declaration)
Information about cookies and social plugins on the digital platform (“App
/Website/Software”)

On the digital platform (“App/Website/Software”) from G-Assets Consulting Ltd., so-called cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies (hereinafter referred to collectively as: “Cookies”) are used to make the digital products and services from G-Assets Consulting Ltd. easier and more efficient to use and to analyze the usage habits of users for the purpose of continuously improving our products. In addition, cookies can be used to tailor advertisements to the individual interests of users and their usage habits.

The G-Assets Consulting Ltd. App/Website/Software also uses so-called social plugins, by means of which users can go directly to the pages of social networks.

Below you will find more detailed information about cookies and social plugins and how you can consent to them or revoke any consent you have already given.

1. What are cookies?
Cookies are text files that are stored on the computer or smartphone of the visitor to a website. They typically contain information about websites visited by the user, which the browser stores while browsing the internet. Cookies make it possible to recognize the user when they visit the website again and can therefore be used, for example, to ensure that a user does not have to log-in to a website again after logging in once. Furthermore, cookies are suitable for storing and transmitting information about the user’s browsing behavior.

Cookies are used to both improve the quality of service, including storing user preferences, and to recommend content and search results, as well as to track user trends, such as what content users are consuming. This allows the use of digital platforms to be evaluated and valuable insights into the needs of users to be gained. These findings help to further improve the quality of digital platforms.

For the user, cookies can be viewed and also deleted individually. Apart from technically necessary cookies (described below as “functionality cookies”), cookies are only set on the basis of the user’s prior, active consent by actively pressing the “Accept cookies” button in the cookie banner. Once given, consent to or the selection of cookies can be revoked by the user via the app at any time or

also be modified separately with regard to the cookies set. In addition, the user can also disable cookies globally via the browser by selecting the appropriate browser settings.

2. What are the types of cookies?

a) Functionality cookies

These cookies are technically necessary so that you as a user can use our products and their functionalities to the full extent. This can be, for example, storing your input in form fields (so you don’t have to fill them out more than once), your geographic location, or user preferences. The information collected by functionality cookies relates only to the website visited, but no information is collected about browsing on other websites. Blocking these cookies may mean that the full range of functions is not available to you.

b) Performance or web analytics cookies

These cookies are used to measure and analyze the scope and performance of a website or app. We receive information about the number of visitors to the website or page views via these cookies. Furthermore, these cookies collect information about the usage habits of visitors to a website or app. Such information can be, for example, at what time most accesses occur or which (sub-) pages are visited most often. This information is aggregated and evaluated using performance and web analytics tools with the purpose of gaining insights into the use, functionality and user-friendliness of websites and apps and to be able to develop them further on an ongoing basis. The online editorial team, in turn, uses these cookies to gain valuable information about which topics and articles particularly appeal to users and can respond to this by adapting the editorial offering to the particular interests of its users.

Performance cookies also provide information about the performance (number of users, number of returning users, dwell time, etc.) of a website. Advertisers are guided by these figures when awarding their contracts, as they want to reach as many people as possible with their advertising. The information obtained through performance and web analytics cookies is therefore essential for us to be able to market our web offering. A conclusion on the individual user is neither desired nor intended.

c) Personalization cookies

These cookies are used to draw conclusions about your interests and needs based on the evaluation of your browsing behavior and to be able to segment users with the same or similar interests and needs, so that we can subsequently display advertising or content to you in a needs-based, interest-related and targeted manner to have optimum impact in your living environment. For example, it can be used to recommend articles that are thematically similar to articles that have already been viewed, or to display content in an order that corresponds to interest. Depending on the tool used, corresponding IDs can be assigned, and user profiles can be created. (see below on “Profiling”). In the case of registrierten users registered online, the user profile may be refined depending on the tool used, since behind the analyses there is then no device, but a user account holder who is not identified by name – since this is done on the basis of login data previously pseudonymized by cryptological hash functions – and information from several devices used can be merged into one client ID.

d) Ad server, advertising, targeting cookies

Based on the analyses of interests and needs, as described under “Personalization cookies”, advertisements can be displayed to a specific target group of users (“targeting”). In addition, these cookies are used to control (in particular, limit) the frequency of advertising and to measure the effect or efficiency of campaigns.

e) Targeting and recommender cookies

Based on the analyses of interests and needs, as described under “Personalization cookies”, content can also be targeted to a specific target group of users or even individual users. For example, it can be used to recommend articles that are thematically similar to articles that have already been viewed, or to display content in an order that corresponds to interest.

f) Re-targeting cookies

These cookies make it possible to recognize a user who has been on another website outside the web offering of “die Presse”. This is primarily done to be able to display advertisements according to the user’s previous visits to the site and the interests derived from them.

g) Third-party cookies

The dissemination of our own and third-party advertising in our online products is not only an important part of our business model, but also the prerequisite for making a large part of our offering available free of charge. If an advertisement is displayed or clicked on, cookies are usually also set by means of the advertising material, provided you have consented to them. These cookies are thus not created by the website just visited, but directly by the advertiser. The advertiser can thus obtain valuable information about the effectiveness of their advertising, such as information about how many users this advertisement was displayed to or how often it was visible in its entirety. The cookies associated with the advertising material may also be used to track a user’s visits to all the pages where their advertising is displayed. Cookies in advertising materials can therefore serve both the analysis of the performance of the specific advertising and targeting or re-targeting purposes. Third-party cookies may therefore fall into all of the cookie categories mentioned earlier and may occur for all of the purposes mentioned. Some browsers also allow you to specifically block third-party cookies. MySam GmbH does not receive any of the information generated by the advertiser via the cookies associated with the advertising material, cannot influence the means or purposes of third-party processing, and does not derive any benefit of its own from this information.

3. Which cookies are used on the G-Assets Consulting Ltd. digital platform (“App/Website/Software”) and how can they be controlled?

For the placement of the cookies described above, the individual advertisers and/or agencies, as well as G-Assets Consulting Ltd., use technical service providers. • finding storage and access to information
• rating
• personalization
• selection, placement and evaluation of ads
• selection, switching and evaluation of content
•based on the type of cookies they set, or group into which the cookie falls. In this context, a technical service provider may come under either only one or several of the above purposes. You will also find information on how to disable cookies in the respective privacy policy of the service providers visible there, which can be accessed in the cookie consent tool for the respective service provider. In addition, consent once given to cookies via the link “Cookie settings”, can

be revoked at any time in the app under “More” in the privacy settings. This makes revocation as easy for you as giving the consent itself. At your discretion, you can also revoke your consent there for individual groups of cookies only or, within these groups, also at company level.

You can also find information on how to refuse cookies below.

In addition, some technical data (e.g., operating system version, browser type and version, screen resolution, etc.), including the user’s IP address, may be collected and stored by the respective software used. Under no circumstances, however, will the persons behind this data be identified.
